BEHAVIOR

Engage Kidz mission is to empower teachers, professionals and caregivers with developmentally appropriate, positive behavior supports and interventions. Positive behavior support is a process used to prevent and replace challenging behaviors, teach new skills and improve the quality of life for a child. The idea of positive behavior support is a researched-based approach consisting of numerous evidence-based practices used to help teachers, parents and family members understand the reasons why a child is engaging in problematic behavior. We then create and implement strategies that will improve the quality of life for that child and their family. Taking a team-based approach by including all important people in the child’s life is one of the best ways to solve difficult behaviors without having all the responsibilities and tasks of the positive behavior support process fall on one person.

We will work together as a team to create a plan through observation, assessment and data collection. This plan will be specific to the child, environment and their family. The plan will help identify triggers and problem solve to create strategies that will assist in decreasing problematic behavior. We will guide the team to help implement new skills for replacement behaviors. 

Engage Kidz offers behavior supports in the home, community, school settings including daycares, preschools and elementary schools and virtually. Children go through many phases of development. Sadly, these phases can present many challenging behaviors. Our therapist are able to empower your teachers and families with the knowledge and supports so that your children can thrive and overcome behavioral situations.
